In response to escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, the United States has positioned its warships in the region, according to reports.

The move comes as the Pentagon works to reinforce air defenses for American troops stationed in Iraq and Syria, who have faced numerous attacks by Iran-backed proxy forces in recent months.

The US State Department has issued warnings to Americans in Israel, advising against travel outside major cities amid concerns that Iran may orchestrate an attack involving over 100 drones and dozens of missiles aimed at military targets.

President Biden has openly voiced expectations of an imminent Iranian assault on Israel and has reaffirmed US support for Israel, vowing to assist in its defense against any such aggression.

Meanwhile, Israel remains on high alert following a recent attack on Iran's embassy compound in Damascus, resulting in the death of a senior commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps' Quds Force and six other officers.

India has also cautioned its citizens against traveling to Iran and Israel due to the escalating tensions in the region.

The Ministry of External Affairs has advised Indian nationals to avoid travel to these countries until further notice and to exercise caution if currently residing there.

In a separate development, the Iran-backed Lebanese militia Hezbollah launched a barrage of missiles towards northern Israel, prompting the Israel Defense Forces to intercept two explosive-laden drones.

This attack marks another escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which has intensified since October 2023.
