News Brief
Improving school education has been top priority for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated the construction of “Chief Minister Composite Schools” in 39 districts to provide continuous education from pre-primary to Class 12 on a single campus, mirroring private school models.
According to a report by Indian Express, the state plans to establish at least two such schools in each of the 75 districts, beginning with one per district in the first phase.
The districts that have been selected in the first phase are Sitapur, Kanpur Dehat, Hardoi, Amethi, and Rae Bareli in central UP; Muzaffarnagar, Rampur, Hathras, Badaun, Baghpat, Bijnor, Etawah, Firozabad, Sambhal, Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, etc. in the west. Sant Kabir Nagar, Bahraich, Kaushambi, Mau, Ballia, Maharajganj, Shravasti, Ghazipur, Bhadohi, and Chandauli in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Each school is estimated to cost Rs 30 crore. Officials confirmed that financial approvals and land allocations have already been secured in the first 39 districts where construction is underway.
The schools are designed to include 30 smart classrooms, a digital library, dedicated science and computer laboratories, a mini stadium, and an expansive playground. Additionally, there will be skill development centres and residential quarters for teaching staff, enhancing both academic delivery and teacher welfare.
Currently, Uttar Pradesh’s government education is segmented across primary, upper primary, and secondary schools. This composite model aims to streamline this structure, offering students a consistent and technologically enabled educational experience throughout their schooling years.
