Various Chinese social media users have come out to question their government and their media's modus operandi of keeping its citizens in the dark over the casualty figures sustained by the People's Liberation Army (PLA) during the Galwan clash.

As per a report in India Today, many Chinese social media users took to Weibo to raise questions on Chinese censorship while demanding transparency over the total casualties suffered by the PLA.

"It shows the high degree of solidarity of the Indian nation. What about us? We should learn from India and show respect to our soldiers. Why don’t we openly hold memorial services for the soldiers who died?...", reads the message.

Another message similarly praised India for holding memorial service for its martyred soldiers and said that it shows the high-respect India vests in its soldiers who defend the country.

Other social media users expressed concerns over the welfare of PLA soldiers after no casualty figures were announced by the Chinese authorities. They also expressed concern for the families of the Chinese troops who would be worried about their safety.

Some social media users directly questioned the Chinese government as to why should its citizens sacrifice their lives for the nation if it suppresses opinions.

Another social media user said that there is too much falsehood in the Chinese media and that it does not have a lot of credibility left.
