A Sikh preacher in Haryana's Kurukshetra had to apologise for attending an event of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The photos of Baba Gurwinder Singh attending the RSS event had gone viral on social media.
This sparked criticism from the Sikh community. After this, Gurwinder Singh issued a written apology to Akal Takht at Amritsar and said, "I will not do any such act in future, which hurts the Panth."
Baba Gurwinder is the head of Gurdwara Udasin Braham Akhara Sahib in Mandi village and had attended the said event in a school in Kurukshetra on 23 June.
"After reaching there, I got to know that it is an RSS event. I am in no way linked to them... I am fully dedicated to Akal Takht Sahib," Gurwinder wrote seeking an apology as an "innocent Sikh".
As per RSS, its camp was organised in a school in Kurukshetra. In the viral videos, Baba Gurwinder can be seen motivating RSS workers by narrating the Sikh history.
This comes after an earlier controversy, where Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) filed a police complaint against an influencer for practicing Yoga at Golden Temple in Amritsar.
