Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday (20 April) conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing Herbert Bandha Four-Lane Road project in Gorakhpur and announced the approval of infrastructure works worth over Rs 700 crore, ANI reported.
CM Adityanath spoke to the public during the inspection and emphasised how these projects would change both passenger and freight traffic.
"Those who want to get from Herbert Bandha to Domingargh - previously, there was no system on the railway line; a person could not go from Herbert Bandha to Madhopur embankment... Now, a system is being made that, from Transport Nagar to Domingarh, there will be a four-lane road and then in Domingarh, a new railway overbridge is being constructed," he said.
The project rollout consists of three main parts: a new railway overbridge at Domingarh with a budget of Rs 132 crore; a 10 km section from Domingarh to Mahesara via Madhopur estimated at Rs 380 crore; and a 4 km four-lane stretch from Rajghat Bridge to Domingarh costing Rs 195 crore.
With a combined investment of more than Rs 700 crore, the CM stated that the three projects will improve transportation and facilitate travel in and around Gorakhpur.
