The body of a 12-year-old student was discovered decapitated inside the hostel of a Madrassa in Chachar district of Assam on Sunday (August 13), according to the police.
The incident occurred at Darus Salam Hafizia Madrasa in Dholai area, as confirmed by a senior official. The body was found by one of the six roommates.
According to the police reports, there were seven students, including the deceased, in the hostel room. The roommate woke up in the morning and saw the beheaded body.
The body has been sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Senior officials, including Chacher SP, conducted an investigation at the scene.
According to an reports, three individuals, including students from the Madrassa, have been detained for questioning. Statements from other students are also being recorded.
The authorities have sealed the institute while the case is under investigation, as stated by the police.
