After the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned Arvind Kejriwal for questioning in Delhi Liquor Policy case, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the BJP of "misusing" the financial probe agency to stop the Delhi CM from campaigning for Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a press conference, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai questioned the timing of the ED's summons to Kejriwal, saying it came ahead of his Goa tour from 18 January.

This comes after the ED on Saturday (13 January) sent its fourth summons to the AAP chief.

"The ED should refrain from becoming a political weapon of the BJP," Delhi's environment minister said, PTI reported.

Additionally, Rai alleged that the media had been informed of the summons before it was officially received by the Delhi Chief Minister.

When questioned about whether Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would comply with the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) latest summons, Environment Minister Gopal Rai stated that they are currently seeking advice from legal experts and will act accordingly.

The Enforcement Directorate has issued summons to Kejriwal for the fourth time for questioning in the Delhi excise policy-linked money laundering case as the Delhi CM has skipped the previous three summons issued by the agency.

Kejriwal has been asked by the agency to appear before it for questioning on 18 January.
