Amidst Speculations of Him Joining Congress, Prashant Kishor's I-PAC Inks Pact With TRS For 2023 Polls: Reports

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has roped in Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) for the upcoming assembly polls in the state in 2023.

After the Bengal polls in 2021, Kishor was quoted saying to a news channel, “I do not want to continue what I am doing. I have done enough. Time for me to take a break and do something else in life. I want to quit this space.”

However, Kishore was reportedly in Hyderabad where he had a day-long meeting with TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao following which he also stayed over for the night at Pragati Bhawan, CM Rao’s official residence.

Further, the formal agreement between TRS and I-PAC too was signed by Prashant Kishor.

It is also reported that Kishor has charted a three-month plan for TRS on organisation building and strengthening of its media wings. Further, a periodical review of the party strategies will be carried out by I-PAC every fortnight.

However, TRS leader KT Rama Rao claimed that Prashant Kishor merely “introduced I-PAC to the TRS party” He further clarified, “I-PAC is working for us officially. We are not working with Prashant Kishor but we are working with I-PAC… Prashant Kishor has disassociated himself from I-PAC and he is doing his own politics. IPAC will be working for us.”

Pointing to the rationale behind this association, KTR added, “KCR is running TRS for the last two decades. We don't want to miss digital medium and that's why IPAC is going to help TRS party in coming polls.”

In the other but related developments, speculations are rife that Prashant Kishore might join the Congress. He has apparently presented “a detailed blueprint” for 2024 Lok Sabha polls to Sonia Gandhi who in turn formed an eight-member committee to study and recommend a way forward.

Prashant Kishore has previously provided his services to several political parties and leaders across the spectrum including BJP, Trinamool Congress, JDU, INC, YSRCP, DMK, and AAP. He also joined Nitish Kumar’s JDU before parting ways and then briefly served as the principal advisor to former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh.
