Another Setback For INDI Alliance: AAP To Contest All Lok Sabha Seats In Punjab And Chandigarh

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal declared on Saturday (10 February) that the party would contest all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab and one in Chandigarh, effectively putting an end to speculation regarding opposition alliances in the state.
Kejriwal conveyed the party's intent to unveil candidates for these constituencies within the next 10-15 days.
Addressing supporters at an event, Kejriwal reminisced about the overwhelming support received by AAP in Punjab's assembly elections two years ago, where the party secured 92 out of 117 seats, making history in the state.
He appealed to the electorate for their continued endorsement, urging them to rally behind AAP candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Kejriwal said, "Two years back, you gave us blessings. You gave 92 out of 117 seats to us (in Assembly elections), you created history in Punjab. I have come to you with folded hands, asking for one more blessing. Lok Sabha elections will be held in two months."
"For Lok Sabha elections, Punjab has 13 seats and one from Chandigarh - a total of 14 seats. In the next 10-15 days, AAP will declare its candidates in all of these 14 seats. You have to make AAP sweep all these 14 seats with a majority," he added.
Earlier,after Mamata Banerjee's decision to go solo in the Lok Sabha election and Nitish Kumar joining hands with the BJP again, Akhilesh Yadav, had unilaterally announced that the Samajwadi Party had set aside 11 seats for the Congress.
