Apple's cyber security executives from the US are likely to meet officials of India's apex cybersecurity agency CERT-In this month over the show cause notice issued to the company.

The notice was issued after multiple opposition MPs received warning notifications on their iPhones.

Last month, several leaders from the opposition claimed that they got a notification from Apple, cautioning them about "state-sponsored attackers trying to remotely compromise" their iPhones and alleged hacking by the government.

The Computer Emergency Response Team-India (CERT-In), a part of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity), had served a show cause notice to Apple concerning this matter.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology (Meity), stated on Friday that Apple's global cyber security team is required to respond to the notice the company received.

"They have to come here and answer those questions. Basic issue is ongoing," the minister told reporters, The Hindu reported.

He stated that the CERT-In held meetings with local Apple representatives. However, the issue is beyond their capability to respond.

"It is their cyber security people who have to come and meet CERT-In and they will come all the way from the US," the minister said.

In response to a query regarding the deadline given to Apple to submit its response, the minister expressed uncertainty about the specific timeline. However, he expects that the company's representatives will engage with CERT-In officials sometime this month.

According to Meity official cited in The Hindu report, the Apple cyber security team will come this month only if they get a visa on time.
