'Ayodhya Se Laye Prem Ka Paigam': Akhilesh Yadav On BJP's Faizabad Loss, Says Will Not Trust EVM Even If Win All 80 Seats

Kannauj MP Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday (2 July) started his speech in Lok Sabha with a shayari suggesting that it seems for the first time that a lost government is ruling India.
The Samajwadi Party (SP) national president said that 4 June, when the election results were declared, marked the end of communal politics and the beginning of communitarian politics.
Yadav attacked the Narendra Modi government over paper leaks and alleged that the government is getting papers leaked because it does not want to give jobs.
He called the SP's victory in Ayodhya a symbol of the maturity of Indian voters and said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s loss there is Lord Ram's decision.
Taking a jibe at BJP's election slogan, "Jo Ram ko laaye, hum unko layenge", he said that those who used to claim to bring somebody are today themselves dependent on someone else.
Referring to Faizabad (the parliamentary constituency where Ayodhya is) MP Awadhesh Prasad, Yadav said, "We have brought prem ka paigam (message of love) from Ayodhya."
He reiterated his mistrust over Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and said, "Even if I win all 80 seats (of Uttar Pradesh), I will not trust EVM. The EVM issue will not end until EVM is gone."
Yadav alleged that the BJP is discriminating against UP as no expressways for the state were granted by the Centre. He claimed that the villages adopted by PM Modi have not improved.
The SP chief demanded a nationwide caste census and alleged that the Agniveer scheme is compromising national security. He also attacked the BJP for the poor state of farmers.
