The Telangana Assembly is currently the stage for a high-stakes triangular contest involving the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) (formerly Telangana Rashtra Samithi), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Congress.

In the midst of this electoral battle, the Kamareddy assembly constituency has emerged as a focal point in Telangana. Here, a three-way competition is unfolding among Telangana Chief Minister and BRS supremo K Chandrashekar Rao, his rival Congress state unit chief Revanth Reddy, and the BJP's K Venkata Ramana Reddy.

Much to the dismay of the BRS, KCR is trailing while Congress' potential Chief Ministerial candidate, Reddy, is leading. In 2018, the BRS won this seat, securing 68,000-odd votes against Congress, which had around 63,000 votes.

As of now, KCR leads, but narrowly, on his traditional seat of Gajwel while Congress is leading in Telangana.
