A day following the vicious explosion at Bengaluru's Rameshwaram Cafe, police are reviewing footage from numerous CCTV cameras along the suspect's route to and from the cafe, hoping to identify him.

Nine individuals were injured in the blast according to a report from The Indian Express.

The suspect, wearing a cap, glasses, and a mask, was seen at the cafe an hour before the 12:56 pm blast, emerging as a primary suspect.

He ordered a snack, paid in cash, sat near the blast site, and left before the IED exploded via a digital timer, possibly leaving behind a bag containing the IED.

CCTV footage shows the suspect arriving on a city bus with the route number 500 D and alighting at the nearby Kundalahalli bus stand, then walking to the cafe. Police also have footage of him leaving before the blast.

Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar confirmed police have footage of the suspect's movements, stating, "There are seven to eight teams working on all possible angles. There is footage of the suspect boarding and disembarking from a bus, as well as walking back after the incident."

According to the same report, the suspect's familiarity with the restaurant and public transport suggests he may have visited before. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from other Rameshwaram Cafe outlets for any pre-incident targeting attempts.

Shivakumar also added, “There is a link between the Mangaluru incident and this one. This is what our police officers are saying. The material that was inside (the IED) is similar. There is a link through the materials like the timer and other things. The police from Mangaluru and Shivamogga are here (to help) with the investigation. It was a low intensity blast with local materials.”

He further stated, “The blast seems to be similar to the Mangaluru and Shivamogga incidents. The materials that they have used and the equipment they have used look similar and so they are looking at it from all angles.”
