"Big Plans": Badruddin Ajmal Warns Muslims Of "Untoward Incident" Ahead Of Ram Mandir Opening, Asks Not To Travel

Badaruddin Ajmal, the leader of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), has advised the Muslim community in Assam to refrain from train travel this month to prevent “any untoward incident”.
Ajmal made his remarks prior to the official opening of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, scheduled for 22 January.
The inauguration of the temple will be conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with an anticipated attendance of over 60,000 people for the consecration ceremony.
During a political rally in the Barpeta district of Assam on Friday (5 January), Ajmal appealed to the Muslim community to stay home from 20 to 25 January.
“They (Bharatiya Janata Party) has booked special trains, flights and buses to bring people to the Ram Mandir; they have big plans. I urge our Muslim brothers not to travel from 20 to 24-25 January,” Ajmal was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
In the forthcoming general elections, the AIUDF has strategised to vie for three seats among the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam. To this end, party members have initiated meetings within these constituencies.
He stated that the BJP opposes Islamic religious principles and laws, particularly 'triple talaq'. "They pose a threat to our existence, our dignity, our mosques, and the modesty of Muslim women. Our laws are derived from the Quran, but they are intruding even there," he expressed.
Ajmal is a representative of the Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency in Assam, which is predominantly made up of minorities. His political party participated in the 2021 Assam Assembly elections in alliance with the Congress party, but they eventually separated.
