BJP Re-Constitutes Parliamentary Board and Central Election Committee, Months Before Crucial Assembly Polls

In a major overhaul to its Parliamentary Board and Central Election Committee, two top-tier decision-making bodies, the BJP President, J.P. Nadda announced their re-constitution.
In the new Parliamentary Board, names of Former Karnataka CM B S Yediyurappa, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Chairman of National Commission for Minorities Iqbal Singh Lalpura, MP Satyanarayan Jatiya, K Lakshman, and have been included. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan have been dropped.
From the old order, it has retained Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP General Secretary B L Santhosh's names.
In the newly constituted Central Election Committee (CEC), B.S.Yediyurappa, Devendra Fadnavis, Sarbananda Sonowal, Om Mathur, Bhupender Yadav, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Satyanarayan Jatiya and K Lakshman, among others find a place.
The names, which have been dropped from CEC, include that of Union Minister, Nitin Gadhkari, Madhya Pradesh CM, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, BJP National Spokesperson, Shahnawaz Hussain and Former Cabinet Minister Jual Oram.
Till the 2024 elections, a number of Assembly elections are due in states including Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tripura, Telangana, Rajasthan and others.
With the inclusion of younger leaders, the BJP seems to be transitioning to accepting a new league of leaders emerging across states.
