BJP's Two-Day National Executive Puts 2024 Election Plans in Motion

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s two-day National Executive meeting is being held in Delhi.
Prior to the start of the programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a road show starting from Patel Nagar to the NDMC Convention Centre on Monday (16 January). The atmosphere was electric as people showered Prime Minister Modi's cavalcade with flower petals and chanted slogans.
The executive meet is crucial for deciding the strategy for the party in the run-up to the nine assembly elections this year and general elections in 2024.
In a close door meeting, the BJP national president, J P Nadda underlined the importance of the upcoming state assembly polls. He asked the party's national executive to ensure party's win in all nine states.
The states due for election this year include Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Telangana, Nagaland, Tripura, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram.
During his address, Nadda praised the party's win in the recent Gujarat assembly polls as 'extraordinary and historic', saying winning more than 150 seats in the 182-member assembly is a significant achievement. While the party lost in Himachal Pradesh to the Congress, the vote gap between the two parties was less than one per cent, he said.

During the meeting, the party plans to strategise its 'pravas yojana' for weaker Lok Sabha seats and focus on strengthening booth level teams, in order to achieve the biggest victory yet in the 2024 general elections.
In the meeting, BJP is also likely to endorse an extension of tenure for Nadda. His three-year term as the national president ends this month. He is likely to lead the party till the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are over.
During the meeting, the party also had in-depth discussions on the nine points included in the resolution that will be passed. One of the points included opposition's personal attacks and the use of abusive language to tarnish the image of Prime Minister Modi and the BJP.
On a more positive note, the discussion also touched upon India's strong global image, Prime Minister Modi's efforts to revive religious and traditional heritage such as Kashi Tamil Sangamam, and India's G20 presidency.
On the last day of the session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would be addressing the meet. Gujarat BJP president C R Paatil, who oversaw the party's historic victory in the recent state assembly polls, is also expected to make a few remarks.
Senior leaders, including Prime Minister Modi and BJP president J P Nadda, have urged other state units to emulate the party's campaign strategies in Gujarat.
