In a recent development from Muzaffarnagar, Harendra Singh Malik, the former Member of Parliament and current National General Secretary of the Samajwadi Party, has raised concerns about alleged booth capturing by BJP agents in village Kutba Kutbi.

In a formal letter addressed to the Chief Election Commissioner of the Election Commission of India, dated 19 April 2024, Malik highlighted the reported incidents of booth capturing and voter intimidation taking place in village Kutba Kutbi, located within the Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha constituency.

According to Malik's letter, BJP agents have been accused of capturing booths in the mentioned village, resulting in voters being physically assaulted and prevented from casting their votes.

Seeking immediate intervention, Malik urged the Election Commission to deploy paramilitary forces to village Kutba Kutbi to ensure the conduct of fair and free elections.

The Election Commission of India is yet to respond to Malik's request for intervention in the alleged incident of booth capturing in Muzaffarnagar.

It's important to note that, Dr. Sanjeev Baliyan, who has been a Member of Parliament from Muzaffarnagar twice consecutively and has served as a minister in the Modi government both times, is contesting his political innings for the third time in 2024.

The Samajwadi Party has nominated Jat leader Harendra Malik as its candidate.

Meanwhile, BSP has fielded Dara Singh Prajapati from here.

The Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha seat includes five assembly constituencies - Budhana, Charthawal, Muzaffarnagar, Khatauli, and Sardhana.
