CISF To Take Over Security Of Parliament Building Complex, To Conduct Survey Later This Week

In light of the recent Parliament security breach, the government has reportedly decided to hand over the "comprehensive" security of the Parliament building complex to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) serves as a central armed police force (CAPF), presently providing security for numerous central government ministry buildings in Delhi.
In addition to this, the CISF also oversees the safety of installations in the nuclear and aerospace sector, civil airports, and the Delhi Metro.
On Wednesday, the Union Home Ministry reportedly instructed a survey of the Parliament building complex, PTI reported citing sources.
This was done with the intention of establishing a "regular deployment of the CISF security and fire wing on a comprehensive pattern".
The survey scheduled for later this week will be conducted by a team of experts from the Central Industrial Security Force's (CISF) Government Building Security (GBS) unit, which is responsible for the security of central government ministries.
They will be joined by the force's fire combat and response officers, as well as officials from the existing Parliament security team.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will implement a comprehensive security plan that includes both the new and old Parliament complexes and associated buildings. This security plan will integrate existing elements from the Parliament Security Service (PSS), the Delhi Police, and the Parliament Duty Group (PDG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
In a major security breach on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack on December 13, two persons jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery during Zero Hour, released yellow smoke from canisters and shouted slogans before being overpowered by the MPs.
Simultaneously, two others released coloured smoke from canisters as they chanted slogans outside the Parliament premises.
