Congress national general secretary KC Venugopal announced the second list of party candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday (12 March) with 43 names.
The list includes 12 candidates from Assam, seven from Gujarat, 10 each from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, three from Uttarakhand and one from Daman and Diu.
Venugopal said that 10 candidates in this list are from the General category, while 13 are from Other Backward Classes (OBC). There are 10 members from Scheduled Castes, nine from Scheduled Tribes and one Muslim.
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath's son Nakul Nath was declared a candidate from his incumbent seat of Chhindwara. Another sitting MP Rahul Kaswan got a ticket.
However, Kaswan was elected as MP from Rajasthan's Churu twice (in 2014 and 2019) on a BJP ticket. Earlier, his father Ram Singh Kaswan won from here four times on a BJP ticket.
