Controversy Erupts As Missionary School Allegedly Denies Entry To Students Following 'Hanuman Deeksha': What We Know So Far

In a recent controversy, a school correspondent and principal found themselves in legal trouble after allegedly denying entry to three students following the 'Hanuman Deeksha' practice at a school in Kannepalli village in Telangana’s Mancherial district.
Authorities at Mother Theresa School, run by Christian missionaries, faced backlash as a case was registered against correspondent German Joseph and principal Jobi Dominic under Sections 153 (A) and 295 (A) of the Indian Penal Code.
The move came after a parent of a Class 4 student filed a complaint, prompting police investigations.
He alleged that the school’s correspondent and principal intentionally insulted their religious sentiments and were promoting enmity and disturbing public tranquillity between religions.
Tensions flared as devotees of Lord Hanuman and religious groups protested the school's actions, which prevented students from participating in annual exams due to the Hanuman Deeksha.
The demonstration escalated briefly with some protesters damaging property.
Two FIRs have been registered by Dandepally police based on complaints from the students’ parents as well as the school administration.
In response to the uproar, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Kumar and Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravi Kumar intervened, promising action.
The Mandal Education Officer also issued a show-cause notice to the school management for their alleged discriminatory conduct.
