Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Home Minister Amit Shah

On 5 September, Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Madhya Pradesh to flag off the third route of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Jan Aashirwad Yatra.

In the course of his speech Home Minister Shah showered praise over three-time Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and asserted that BJP will get more than 150 seats in the upcoming assembly polls.

He stated that chief minister Chouhan has transformed Madhya Pradesh, from being a BIMARU state under erstwhile Congress rule to a developed state.

Shah also sharply attacked Congress leaders and former chief ministers, Digvijay Singh and Kamal Nath, whom he dubbed as "Mr Bantadhar" and "Corruption Nath" respectively.

"The CMO had become the office of money collection, the Congress working committee had become the corruption working committee, more than 800 were transferred just 15 minutes before the resignation of Kamal Nath", alleged the Union Home Minister.

He further said: "Mobile scam of 63 thousand crores, Moser Beer scam of 350 crore, AgustaWestland scam of 2400 crores, IFFCO scam of 600 crores took place whereas loan waiver promise for farmers of 25 thousand crores was not fulfilled and their bonus worth 1169 crores was eaten away."

While addressing a rally in Mandla, the Home Minister told the gathering that the land of Mandla is the land of Rani Durgavati, Raghunath Shah and Shankar Shah who have been a source of inspiration for the entire country.

Shah also accused the previous Congress regime of ignoring the development of Tribals.

He said, "Congress has only talked about the rights of water, forest and land for tribals, but Modi ji gave them security, respect and inclusive development along with water, forest and land. Today I am asking Kamal Nath and Mr Bantadhar, when the Congress government was in power, what was their budget for tribal welfare?"

Amit Shah also recounted that former PM Manmohan Singh had said that the minorities have the first right on the country's treasury.

He said "The Congress government remained immersed in minority-ism. But when Modi ji came to power, he said that my government is a government for tribals, a government for Dalits and people who have remained backward. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that tribals have the first right over the country's treasury."

Home Minister Amit Shah also said that during the Congress government, the terrorists from Pakistan used to cut off the heads of our soldiers while Modi ji have given them a befitting reply.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Article 370 was removed, Triple talaq was abolished and that he is making an incomparable contribution in taking India forward.

"Today it has started raining at some places in the state, but if there is no rain, do not panic, do not worry, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, you will be taken out of the crisis."

He also announced that a medical college will be soon opened in Mandla named after Raja Hriday Shah. He accused the Congress of only remembering the name of Nehru and Gandhi.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that LPG gas cylinder will be given to women having a Ujjwala gas connection every month for Rs 450, and that 3 crore poor people in Madhya Pradesh have been given medical treatment worth lakhs of rupees free through Ayushman Cards.

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari also reached Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh on 6 September, where he flagged off the fifth route of the Jan Aashirwad Yatra in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Union Minister Gadkari said that the development that has happened till now in Madhya Pradesh was a trailer, and real film is yet to start.

He also said that Madhya Pradesh has been at number one in the agriculture sector seven times in the last seven years due to the leadership of Shivraj Chouhan.

Gadkari promised that the work from Khandwa bypass from Deshgaon to Sudhi will start from October.

He further said that a highway will be built from Indore to Hyderabad at a cost of Rs 18,000 crores. It will connect Indore, Khandwa, Khargone etc. districts making it easy to reach Omkareshwar.

CM Chouhan added, "I say that we have no shortage of money. Congress neither provided electricity, nor water, nor roads, but our government has built excellent roads not only in Madhya Pradesh but in the entire country and provided water to the fields."

The Chief Minister said that no one will be left without a house on the land of Madhya Pradesh as under Bhu Adhikar Housing Scheme, he is giving land lease to all the poor now which houses will be built for them.

He added, "I will lay the foundation stone of two irrigation projects. Before the implementation of code of conduct, I will perform the Bhoomi Pujan of the Rs 1358 crore 73 lakh Jhirnya irrigation project and the Rs 3517 crore irrigation project near Khalwa."
