The Bharatiya Janata Party in its election manifesto published today (14 April 24) promised to set up threatre commands for 'more efficient operations''.
The manifesto reads:
"We have established the position of Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) for better coordination in the military. We will further establish the military theatre commands for more efficient operations."
The manifesto documents also dwells on the border infrastructure aspect of national security. Accusing previous governments of poor infrastructure in border areas, the manifesto says that the BJP government has corrected the grave error by building roads, railways, telecom towers, optical fibre cables and electricity networks.
