A Delhi police special investigation team returned to the national capital after conducting a two-day probe at the residence of former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district.

The police’s visit to Gonda was to verify the allegations by one of the wrestlers that she was sexually harassed when she went to meet Singh at his residence last October.

In its probe in Gonda, the police recorded the statement of at least ten people, including some officials, coaches and players.

During his questioning in early May, Singh had denied the allegations and claimed that he was not in Gonda on the given dates.

The police recorded the statements of some people in this connection, including his driver, employees and associates, and collected the Aadhaar and mobile numbers of 14 other local residents. The statements will now be cross-checked with evidence, ToI reported.
