Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath UP CM Yogi Adityanath presented the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP's) political resolution at the national executive meeting on 7 November. The meet was held in Delhi. Yogi Adityanath was the only chief minister from BJP-ruled states that are going to assembly polls in 2022 to be present in-person at the meet. Other chief ministers from BJP-ruled states were present via video conferencing.

Yogi Adityanath's presence at the national executive meeting could be an indication of the elevation of his role in the party's work ahead of the 2022 assembly polls to be held in Uttar Pradesh and other states. The BJP's aim is to return to power in Uttar Pradesh in 2022 and make the best of its performance in UP to help BJP clinch numbers in the 2024 Lok Sabha election based on its performance in the state polls.

Yogi Adityanath is a senior leader from the party representing the largest state as a former Member of Parliament and now chief minister. He was entrusted with the task of presenting the party's resolution, a document of significance on the party's schemes and visions at the national executive indicating a shift towards him.

In the previous years, the BJP's resolution has been presented by cabinet minister and former party president Rajnath Singh. He, like Yogi Adityanath, comes from Uttar Pradesh. During his recent visit to Lucknow, Home Minister Amit Shah had said that if people wanted Narendra Modi to return as prime minister in 2024, they should vote for Yogi Adityanath as the chief minister once again in 2022.

The step is an indication that the BJP is taking a giant leap of trust in Yogi Adityanath's presence in UP ahead of 2022 polls that will lead to the party's movement towards 2024, and that the UP chief minister has turned a new chapter in his own expansion of roles.

Yogi Adityanath praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has been quoted as saying: “Uttar Pradesh ranks second in the ease of doing business in the country. The state has also emerged as the second-largest economy of the country in a very short time."

BJP's chief in UP Swatantra Dev Singh is quoted to have said at the meet: “We will be contesting the elections on the basis of Yogiji’s leadership, honesty and development, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s honesty and visionary approach.”
