Ex-IAF Chief RKS Bhadauria, Former YSRCP MP Varaprasad Rao Join BJP
Former Indian Air Force (IAF) chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria (Retired) and former YSR Congress Party MP from Tirupati, Varaprasad Rao joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in New Delhi on Sunday (24 March).
They were welcomed into the party by BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde and Union Cabinet Minister Anurag Thakur at the party headquarters.
Tawde praised Bhaduaria's contributions to the field of defence and the development of indigenous technology and highlighted Rao's career as an IAS in Tamil Nadu.
Bhadauria had a career of 40 years in the IAF but he said that his "golden time" in service was the last eight to nine years under the BJP rule as it worked for the modernisation of the armed forces.
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to have a developed India by 2047 and committed to work for it. Similar sentiments were expressed by Rao praising PM Modi's "dynamic" leadership.
Rao thanked YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy for giving him an opportunity to become an MLA and MP but expressed his desire to join mainstream national politics.
He is likely to get a ticket from Tirupati as he mentioned the development projects of Tirupati in his joining speech. He said that Modi's leadership can fill the gaps left in development.
