Amidst escalating tensions within the ruling coalition in Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar resigned from his position on Tuesday (12 March), according to media reports.
Reports suggest that Nayab Saini or Sanjay Bhatia may emerge as potential replacements.
Additionally, there are indications that Khattar could be nominated as a candidate from Karna in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Against the backdrop of this development, Chief Minister Khattar had summoned a meeting of BJP and government-backed independent MLAs at his residence today at 11:30 am.
This gathering is anticipated to be instrumental in devising a strategy for potential government formation with the support of independent MLAs.
Simultaneously, JJP leader Dushyant Chautala had also called for a meeting of party MLAs in Delhi around 11 am.
Speculation emerge that significant decisions may be taken during this session, including the party's stance on fielding candidates for the Hisar and Bhiwani-Mahendragarh Lok Sabha seats.
Meanwhile, reports have also hinted at a complete Cabinet reshuffle, with the BJP likely to exclude JJP representatives and instead seek the support of Independent MLAs.
Currently, in the 90-member Haryana Assembly, the BJP has 41 MLAs, while the Congress has 30, the JJP 10, and there are 7 Independents, apart from an MLA each of the INLD (Indian National Lok Dal) and Haryana Lokhit Party.
