Hisar MP Brijendra Singh Leaves BJP, Joins Congress Over "Compelling Political Reasons" Of Farmers, Wrestlers And Agniveer

Lok Sabha MP from Haryana's Hisar Brijendra Singh left the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and joined Congress on Sunday (10 March).
"I have resigned from the primary membership of BJP, due to compelling political reasons," he posted earlier extending gratitude to the BJP national president JP Nadda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.
Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge welcomed Singh into the party in the presence of senior party leader Mukul Wasnik. Singh thanked Congress leadership on this occasion.
"Some political reasons made me uncomfortable, compelling me to take this decision. This discomfort was majorly because of farmer issues, Agniveer issue and female wrestlers' issue," Singh said.
Singh is the son of former Union Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh, who had threatened to leave the party over its alliance with Dushyant Chautala's Jananayak Janata Party (JJP).
Birender Singh had joined the BJP after leaving Congress ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha election. He was sent to the Rajya Sabha and became a Union minister. He too can go back to the Congress with his son.
