News Brief
Advanced Hawk.
Indian Air Force's (IAF) Hawk trainer aircraft met with an accident today (13 February) at Kalaikunda in West Bengal during a training sortie. However, the good news is that both the pilots ejected safely.
The IAF has constituted a court of inquiry to find out the cause of the accident. According to a post by IAF's official handle on X, there was no loss of life or damage to civilian property in the crash.
Hawk is an advanced jet trainer aircraft made by Rolls Royce and British Aerospace Systems (BAE). It allows an instructor pilot to fly alongside a trainee so that they learn to transition to high-performance fighter aircraft.
