Despite the positive momentum generated for the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) from the consecration of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cautioned his Cabinet Ministers not to be swayed by armchair political analysts.
Emphasising the need for continuous effort, he also drew parallels with the 2004 elections, urging vigilance against any kind of complacency according to a report from Hindustan Times.
While some BJP members express confidence in "abki baar 400 paar," Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are continuously engaged in forging strategic alliances, such as with Janata Dal (United) in Bihar and maintaining positive relations with Biju Janata Dal in Odisha.
The BJP acknowledges the importance of mobilising its supporters through "panna pramukhs" (electoral list page in charge) to ensure active participation in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Despite the BJP's strength in the Hindi heartland, challenges lie in retaining numbers in states like Karnataka, breaking into the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam stronghold in Tamil Nadu, countering the Left in Kerala, and facing stiff opposition from Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal.
