Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday (16 May) attacked the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for increasing inflation by citing paracetamol tablets.

"You tell me, earlier we used to get 500 mg paracetamol tablets and fever used to get cured. Today even 650 mg (paracetamol) tablets do not cure fever. Is this a BJP scam or not?" Yadav said.

Yadav had earlier targeted the Covid vaccines by calling them 'BJP vaccines.' He has promised distribution of free aata (flour) and data in this election season.

The SP chief was earlier seen today with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, where he downplayed the Swati Maliwal assault case.

When Kejriwal was asked about Maliwal's allegations against his personal secretary Bibhav Kumar, he refused to respond and Yadav responded on his behalf.

Yadav said, "There are other issues that are more important than this." Soon, Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh took the mic and questioned PM Narendra Modi on his silence on several issues.

Yesterday, Yadav campaigned with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after getting free from Kannauj, the seat he is contesting in the Lok Sabha elections and earlier represented it from 2000 to 2012.
