Jailed AAP Minister Satyendra Jain Receiving Massages Not From Physiotherapist, But Inmate Accused Of Raping A Minor: Reports
AAP Minister Satyendra Jain in Tihar jail getting a massage
According to media reports, Tihar jail sources have revealed that the man giving massages to Delhi Minister, Satyendra Jain, inside his prison cell, is not a physiotherapist but a rape accused, Rinku.
Rinku is accused under Section 6 of Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), 376, 506 and 509 of IPC.
The video of Jain receiving massage and meeting visitors in his prison cell drew flak from the people. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), however, continued to defend Jain.
Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, justified the act, labeling it as part of doctor recommended physiotherapy.
'He (Jain) had sustained an injury to his spine and even underwent two surgeries. The doctor had advised physiotherapy upon discharge and those videos show him getting physiotherapy,' Sisodia had asserted.
However, the claims made by AAP and his ministers have been refuted by the jail authorities.
Jain had also moved a Delhi court seeking contempt proceedings against the Enforcement Directorate for allegedly leaking the CCTV footage.
Sisodia, who is currently in charge of the Prison Department that was earlier held by Jain, alleged he has been framed in a false case and that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is resorting to such "theatrics'' as it is 'losing the MCD and Gujarat polls'.
Earlier this week, a Tihar jail superintendent was suspended for alleged involvement in providing special treatment to Jain in the prison.
The ED had claimed in a court that Jain was getting special treatment inside the Tihar jail including massage and special food, and provided CCTV footage to substantiate the claim.
The Delhi Prison Department comes under the Delhi government.
Jain, who is in judicial custody at Tihar over money laundering charges, for the last five months, can be seen in the jail videos from his cell getting back and foot massages, reading some documents and talking to visitors while lying on a bed.
Mineral water bottles and a remote are also seen. In one video, he is seen getting a head massage while sitting on a chair.
