In a dastardly act of violence, terrorists have targeted non-locals in the Habba Kadal area of Srinagar, resulting in the deaths of migrant workers Amritpal Singh and Rohit Mashi.
Singh was shot at point-blank range and succumbed to his injuries on the spot, whereas Mashi died while receiving treatment at Srinagar Hospital on Thursday (8 February) morning according to a report from The New indian Express.
This incident marks the first terrorist attack on non-locals in Kashmir this year, with security forces launching efforts to apprehend the assailants.
Following the attack, authorities initiated a large-scale combing and search operation in the area to apprehend the perpetrators. Police officers are actively reviewing CCTV footage to identify the assailants, while neighbouring areas are also under scrutiny.
