J&K: Search Operation Launched After 'Suspected Terrorists' Attack Army Vehicles In Poonch

The Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) police launched a massive search in Union Territory's Poonch district on after "suspected terrorists" fired at a convoy of Army vehicles in the area on Friday (12 January).
Following the attack, Army soldiers reportedly fired back at the attackers.
According to the Army, no one was injured in the incident.
As per a tweet by an Indian Army X handle, the vehicles were attacked at around 6 pm on Friday from a jungle near Krishna Ghati in Poonch.
"No casualties to own troops," the Army said, adding that joint search operation with the J&K police was in progress.
The vehicles that came under attack were carrying security personnel back to the camp, news agency PTI reported citing officials.
This attack on the army vehicle comes weeks after terrorists ambushed two Army vehicles in Poonch, killing four soldiers.
On 21 December, a group of heavily armed terrorists attacked two Army vehicles at a blind curve near Dhatyar Morh in the Poonch district, resulting in the death of four jawans and injuries to two others.
The Army convoy was en route from Bufliaz in Poonch to Thanamandi in Rajouri, where a unit of the Rashtriya Rifles is stationed.
Earlier in November, five Army personnel including two Captains were killed after the security forces launched an anti-terror operation in Rajouri's Kalakote.
In April and May this year, 10 soldiers were killed in action in twin attacks in the Rajouri-Poonch region.
In the last two years, over 35 soldiers have made the supreme sacrifice in the anti-terror operations in the region.
