Jobs Will Be Optional In The Future Due To Robots, AI: Elon Musk

Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Thursday (23 May) said that traditional employment could become a matter of personal choice in future, rather than necessity.
"I do think that long term, in a benign scenario, any job that somebody does will be optional," Musk said at a virtual interaction at annual technology conference VivaTech.
"If you want to do a job as a kind of hobby, you can, but otherwise AI and robots will provide any goods and services that you want," he added.
This vision presented by Musk paints a picture of a future where AI and robotic technology will handle the bulk of production and service tasks, freeing humans from the need to work for a living.
This vision is particularly relevant given Musk's involvement in pioneering AI and robotics technologies.
Tesla's Optimus robot project and XAI's Grok represent significant strides in this direction.

Tesla's Optimus, an advanced humanoid robot, is being designed to take over repetitive and dangerous tasks, potentially revolutionising industries ranging from manufacturing to healthcare.

XAI's Grok
Meanwhile, XAI's Grok, an artificial intelligence project, focuses on developing AI to "accelerate human scientific discovery".
Grok is a generative artificial intelligence chatbot developed by Elon Musk's xAI, based on a large language model (LLM).
It was developed as an initiative by Elon Musk as a direct response to the rise of OpenAI's ChatGPT which Musk co-founded.The chatbot is advertised as "having a sense of humor" and direct access to Twitter (X).
