Karnataka Government To Take Facilities And Provisions To People’s Doorsteps From January 26
- Karnataka's Jan Sevak programme will provide all facilities to people at their doorstep including monthly ration, pension and other social security schemes and make all certificates available in respective gram panchayats.
- A pilot project under this programme will begin on 1 November across 28 constituencies in Bengaluru, and later, it will be extended to the rest of the state from 26 January 2022.

Karnataka has taken up a massive decentralisation operation and, as a pilot project, will provide all facilities to people of 28 constituencies in Bengaluru at their fingertips through their mobile phones.
The Jan Sevak programme will provide all facilities including monthly ration, pension and other social security schemes to people at their doorsteps and make all certificates available in respective gram panchayats.
A pilot project will start across 28 constituencies of Bengaluru beginning on 1 November and will be extended to the rest of the state from 26 January 2022, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai as he launched the Deputy Commissioner's 'March Towards Villages' on Saturday (16 October).
" A government becomes a people's government only when all institutions and organisations that are connected to people in rural areas function well. It is with this intention that we are taking the government to people. Not just the DC but the entire government is marching towards villages," said Bommai, as he launched the march, the rural stay programme and various projects among others in Nyamati Taluk of Davanagere district.
"We are making necessary arrangements to ensure that people get ration at the doorsteps of their houses. People must get all benefits of social security schemes in their villages. We want people to get all certificates in gram panchayats," said Bommai.
The pension scheme is already available online. But if people experience difficulties in availing the same, they wouldn't have to go to the taluk panchayat office 'they can instead have the issues resolved at the centres established at the gram panchayats, assured Bommai.
Rural development is being planned in phases under the Amrut scheme announced on the occasion of the 'Amrit Mahotsav' or seventy-fifth year of Independence Day celebrations. Under this, Rs 2 crore is being provided to every gram panchayat for developmental works, Rs 1 lakh for around 7,500 women help groups and developmental programmes have been announced for 7,500 students belonging to SC/ST, backward classes, said Bommai.
