Since Prajwal Revanna has fled to Germany after allegations of sex abuse surfaced, Karnataka Minister K N Rajanna claimed that the state and central governments know about the suspended JDS MP's whereabouts.

Revanna, the MP from Hassan in Karnataka, left India on 27 April, a day after voting for the Lok Sabha elections in his constituency as accusations of him assaulting hundreds of women emerged.

A show-cause notice questioning why Revanna's diplomatic passport should not be cancelled was issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Saturday (25 May).

Rajanna claimed that the focus on following legal procedures is delaying Revann's arrest, so that in future, the court does not dismiss the case as natural justice was denied to Revanna (by denying him an opportunity to depose)".

"The SIT, the state government and the centre know the place and in whose house he (Prajwal) is staying in. They also know his movements since he is an MP," Rajanna asserted.

Claiming that Revanna could be arrested immediately and his passport be cancelled as Karanataka Chief Miniuster Siddaramaiah wrote in this regard, Rajanna explained that the arrest is not being delayed purposefully.

If his passport is cancelled, his stay abroad will become illegal, potentially leading to legal action in his host country. Earlier, Interpol issued a "Blue Corner Notice" to locate the MP.

Earlier this month, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal confirmed that Revanna travelled to Germany on a diplomatic passport without seeking political clearance for the trip.
