LeT Commander, Accused Of Attack On Indian Army Camp In J&K, Found Beheaded Near LoC In PoK: Report

Khwaja Shahid alias Mia Mujahid, a commander of Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba and one of the masterminds of the 2018 attack on an Indian Army camp in Sunjuwan, J&K, was reportedly found beheaded near the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

According to sources cited in a Times of India report, his body showed evidence of extreme torture.

Mujahid, who was a resident of the Neelum Valley of POK, was kidnapped by unknown assailants last week.

The LeT terrorist's abduction had sent shock waves across the rank and file in Pakistani spy agency ISI, ToI reported.

The details of his kidnapping and subsequent murder are still shrouded in mystery, with no organisation stepping forward to claim responsibility.

This incident of Mujahid's death is part of a series of killings of several terrorists, who were on India's wanted list and had taken refuge in Pakistan and various other nations, carried out by unidentified individuals.

Mujahid was reportedly among the masterminds of the 2018 terror attack on Indian Army's camp in J&K's Sunjuwan.

On 10 February 2018, the Sunjuwan camp of the 36 Brigade of the J&K Light Infantry was attacked by a heavily armed terrorist group.

Later, security forces eliminated three of the terrorists who had donned Army combats and were armed with AK-56 rifles, under-barrel grenade launchers and a huge amount of ammunition, including grenades.

The attack resulted in death of six people, including five Army personnel, and injuries to ten individuals, comprising six women and children. Among the injured was a pregnant woman, who subsequently gave birth to a baby girl via Caesarean section.
