Lok Sabha Elections: Chandrababu Naidu Holds Talks With Shah, Nadda Amid Rising TDP-BJP Alliance Prospects

In a recent development, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu engaged in discussions with Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president J P Nadda on Thursday (7 March), sparking speculation about a potential alliance between the two parties for the forthcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
The meeting marks the second interaction between Naidu and Shah in recent months.
Furthermore, another round of talks between TDP and BJP is scheduled to take place in Delhi today (8 March), with an official announcement regarding the alliance anticipated within the next day or two.
It's important to note that the TDP was an integral part of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) until 2018 when Naidu, then the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, decided to exit over concerns regarding financial support for the state.
Now, with elections looming, both parties seem open to the idea of joining forces, contingent upon reaching a mutually agreeable seat-sharing arrangement.
Reports indicate that the focal point of the discussions revolved around the potential alliance and seat distribution.
Andhra Pradesh with 25 Lok Sabha and 175 Assembly seats, has the BJP reportedly eyeing eight to ten parliamentary constituencies.
The party is reportedly seeking key constituencies, including Vizag, Vijayawada, Araku, Rajampet, Rajahmundry, Tirupati, and one additional location.
