Former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and chief of Bahujan Samajwadi Party, Mayawati, has reportedly said that if her party comes to power next year after the 2022 assembly polls, it will not work with a “vengeance”.

She reportedly added that her party will not stop projects and schemes including those at pilgrimage centres Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Mathura, initiated by the Yogi Adityanath-led Bharatiya Janata Party government in UP.

She expressed confidence that her party will come to power.

She added that projects in Ayodhya, Varanasi, Mathura and other religious centres, and public amenity works started by the current government following the footsteps of the government led by her, will not be stopped.

She added that the projects will be completed. She is reported to have said that she will stop migration if she comes to power. Her main poll plank, she added, will be providing jobs to the youth in UP.

Addressing a rally in Lucknow on the occasion of the death anniversary of BSP founder Kanshi Ram, she reportedly urged people to "not waste their votes on other smaller outfits."

She added that it will lead the BJP back into power in Uttar Pradesh.

She accused the BJP of trying to give a “communal colour” to issues. She added that the BJP can use it to make political gains.

Taking on Congress-led governments, and governments led by the BJP and AAP for not having done enough to stop migration of people from Uttar Pradesh, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, she reportedly added that the AIMIM of Asaduddin Owasi, too, did nothing for migrant workers. She added that these parties will make big claims before the polls.

She took on the previous government in UP led by Samajwadi Party and added that elements who harassed people will be jailed when a government led by her party comes to power.

Mayawati has reportedly condemned the gang-rape in Gautam Buddh Nagar's Jewar. She has called for immediate action against the accused.
