Months Before Blast, Israeli Embassy Requested For Increased Security, Flagged Concerns About Online Threat: MEA Letter Reveals

A letter from the Ministry of External Affairs to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has disclosed the Israel embassy's request for increased security for the ambassador due to online threats and concerns about the current situation, couple of months before the blast.
On Tuesday (26 December), a "low-intensity blast" occurred near the Israel embassy, accompanied by a letter found at the blast site.
The letter, written in English and directed towards the Israeli ambassador, is reportedly from an obscure group called "Sir Allah Resistance," a name not found in existing records, according to a report from ThePrint.
On 16 October, the Israel embassy had reached out to the MHA about online threats, seeking assistance in identifying the individuals responsible.
The police, having identified two suspects in connection with the blast, are actively reviewing routes, CCTV footage, and dump data from the embassy's vicinity, though no detentions have occurred.
The threats reportedly included abusive language and slogans supporting 'Free Palestine.'
Regarding inquiries into the incident, Additional DCP (New Delhi district) Ravi Kant did not respond to queries about heightened embassy security offafr the filing of an FIR.
Delhi Police spokesperson Kumar Gyanesh stated that senior officials were addressing the matter, with central agencies examining samples from the blast site on Wednesday (27 December) morning.
