Antony Waste Handling Cell today announced that it has received an order worth Rs 1,024 crore from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for disposal of construction and demolition waste in Mumbai for a period of 21 years.

The total contract period is for 21 years, including the mobilisation period of 12 months. The contract involves collection and processing of around 600 tonnes per day of debris waste.

"AG Enviro Infra Projects Private Limited, a material subsidiary of the Company, has been awarded a contract for "Collection, Transportation, Processing, and Disposal of Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste in Mumbai City" of 600 tonnes per day. The contract is worth Rs. 1,146 crores for a 20-year concession period." the company said in a notification to NSE.

“This sub-segment of Solid Waste Management provides tremendous growth opportunities given the number of infrastructure development projects underway, and the Government’s push to accelerate the economic growth with infrastructure being one of the important growth pillars.” said Jose Jacob, Chairman and Managing Director, Antony Waste Handling Cell.


Municipal solid waste (MSW) typically refers to the waste collected by the municipality or disposed of at the municipal waste disposal site and includes residential, industrial, institutional, commercial, municipal, and construction and demolition waste.

The company recently won a 7-year mechanical power sweeping contract from the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). The contract calls for the supply of 4 Power Sweeping Machines and the daily maintenance of 161 kilometers of road.

Over 2000 proposals for rebuilding of dilapidated building are submitted to BMC for re development. An estimated that 25 lakh brass debris is generated every year.
