On 7 May, Delhi Police busted a black-marketing racket during a raid. Delhi Police recovered 105 oxygen concentrators from the two upscale restaurants in Delhi's Khan Market amid the Covid 19 outbreak in the national capital.

An accused in the alleged black marketing of oxygen concentrators in the national capital, businessman Navneet Kalra was refused to grant any interim relief by a court on Monday.

The businessman is known for owning two restaurants -- Khan Chacha and Town Hall.

Kalra had moved the court seeking anticipatory bail.

In 2020, he was one of the people felicitated as "Delhi ke Nirmata". His name appeared in the list of 50 representatives from various walks of life shortlisted by AAP "for making a difference with their work, in health, education, infrastructure, social service etc., in the national capital."

Reports mentions that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made a special mention of 'Delhi ke Nirmata' (the makers of Delhi). The report adds that there was an oath ceremony held and the special guests were called over for the felicitation.

In this article, Navneet was one of the profiled Delhiites who were given the award by the Delhi government.

Navneet Kalra heads the most recognisable optical store in Delhi/NCR, Dayal Opticals. With over 15 stores in Delhi NCR, Navneet has single handedly elevated the 51 year old legacy of the store to almost an iconic stature. Simultaneously, Navneet Dayal is also a restaurateur who runs famous food joints like Khan Chacha and Town hall. Navneet is delighted that unlike other cities, the ease of doing business in Delhi is systematically improving.

He is quoted as saying in his profile:

“I am part of the restaurant association, sometime back the excise commissioner misinterpreted a policy and banned inhouse DJs from playing music in restaurants. We as an association met Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and asked him to intervene. We were surprised to see that the matter was resolved in an hour, there were no unwarranted demands, no unnecessary hassles."

Manager and three staffers from the restaurants were reportedly arrested.

The Delhi Police has issued a lookout notice against. Reportedly, it is suspected that Kalra has left Delhi along with his family.

Delhi Police had added that its teams were conducting raids in the Delhi-NCR and neighbouring states.
