'One Missile, One Tank': Indian Army Tests Anti-Tank Guided Missile At 17,000 Feet In Sikkim
Indian Army's ATGM training exercise in Sikkim
The Indian Army's Trishakti Corps conducted a training exercise of Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) firing at super high-altitude Area of 17,000 Feet in Sikkim on Thursday (11 April), Defence PRO, Guwahati said in a statement.
Missile Firing Detachments from Mechanised and Infantry Units of entire Eastern Command participated in the training exercise, the statement added.
The ATGM Detachments of Indian Army demonstrated capability to neutralize armoured threats with unparalleled lethality, ensuring mission success on treacherous mountains and reaffirms the aim of “Ek Missile Ek Tank”, it said.
"Prowess of integrated target acquisition and destruction by Anti-Tank Guided Missile detachments was at display in super high altitude areas of 17500ft," the Trishakti Corps said in a release.
"The firing dovetailed with battle field inoculation demonstrated that no target is beyond reach against the will of Indian Soldiers in most adverse conditions," it added.
Earlier in February, the Army conducted ATGM tests at Teesta Field Firing Range in West Bengal.
According to a defence release, over 1500 personnel from various Infantry and Mechanised Infantry Battalion units took part in the command-level training exercise.
The firing was conducted under the aegis of the Trishakti Corps, and more than 260 missiles were fired.
