"Only BJP Can Stop Infiltration In Bengal, Mamata Didi Misleading People Over CAA": Amit Shah At Election Rally

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has asserted that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in West Bengal can effectively address the issue of infiltration in the state, as per a report by Hindustan Times.
He stated, "We have passed the CAA law. Mamata didi is misleading the people of Bengal. She is saying that if you apply for CAA, you will lose your citizenship. I request refugees to apply for citizenship under CAA, I assure there won't be any problem.”
Speaking at a rally in Balurghat, West Bengal, Shah accused Mamata Banerjee of prioritising her political interests over the state's welfare by allegedly allowing infiltration to continue.
He also claimed that infiltrators formed a significant portion of Banerjee's voter base, implying that she would not take effective measures to curb infiltration.
Shah highlighted the BJP's success in addressing infiltration in Assam and promised similar action in West Bengal if the BJP wins a significant number of seats in the state. He emphasised the need to build a strong Bengal to contribute to a stronger India.
West Bengal will go to poll for its 42 seats in all seven phases of the general elections. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee won 22 seats, while the BJP secured 18 seats, with the Congress winning the remaining two seats. The results of the current elections will be announced on 4 June.
