Pakistan: Hindu Man Killed For Resisting Abduction Of Sister; Mother Protests Outside Police Station For 18 Hours For FIR
- Cases of abduction of Hindu girls in Pakistan's Sindh are common, and a fresh case that has come to light from the province is of a Hindu man who was killed by a Muslim mob that was trying to abduct his sister.

The Sindh province in Pakistan is where most of the country’s Hindus, who form less than 2 per cent of its population, live.
Cases of abduction of Hindu girls, killing of Hindu men, mass conversion of Hindu families by unethical means and harassment of Hindu residents by slapping false blasphemy-related cases are routine in the province.
It is Sindh from where the majority of Hindus migrate to India to live in the numerous Pakistani-Hindu refugee camps, the condition in which borders on slums.
A fresh case that has come to light from Sindh is of a Hindu man who has died after being beaten up by a Muslim mob that was trying to abduct his sister.
The victim, Laloo Kachhi, was 35.
While Swarajya could not find reports by mainstream newspapers in Pakistan, several Hindu activists have posted information on their Twitter accounts.
As per The Rise News, a portal and Twitter account run by a Sindh-based journalist-activist Veengas, the incident is from Kunti, a small town in district Umerkot of Sindh (Umerkot was formally Amarkot).
On 25 December, some men from the majority Muslim community, including one Abdullah Khoso, barged inside Laloo’s house to abduct his sister Lali, who is married.
It was not the first time Abdullah was attempting it. In November, Abdullah had taken Lali to his home and confined her there, till Laloo filed a police case for abduction.
In the latest abduction attempt, Laloo tried to fight off Abdullah, who had come with accomplices. They beat up Laloo severely, leading to his death on 1 Janaury.
As per the report, whereabouts of Lali are unknown as she is believed to have been taken by Abdullah.
A video of an injured Laloo was shared by Sindhi activists and journalists. They said Laloo was married and has four children.
Journalist Veengas posted a video of Laloo’s aggrieved parents saying that no police case was registered for two days despite their complaints. Others shared pictures of Laloo’s mother holding a placard asking for justice for her son, sitting outside Nabisar Road Police Station in the cold.
An activist later posted that a case for murder and abduction was finally filed on 3 January at Nabisar Road Police Station.
