Amidst a standoff between the Congress and the Assam Government regarding Rahul Gandhi's visit to Bordowa Than, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh took to social media saying, "Chronology Samajhiye."

The dispute revolves around the timing of Rahul Gandhi's visit, coinciding with the Pran Pratishtha day of Lord Ram in Ayodhya.

Ramesh outlined the sequence of events, stating that initially, the temple head welcomed Rahul Gandhi's visit during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

However, the Assam CM later announced that the visit could only happen after 3 pm on 22 January, leading to a dispute with local authorities.

As per Jairam Ramesh, on 11 January 2024, local Congress MLAs informed the temple head about Rahul Gandhi's desire to visit Bordowa Than during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

On 20 January, the Assam CM suddenly announced that Rahul Gandhi could only visit after 3 pm on 22 January.

On 21 January, the temple head stated that due to expected crowds, Rahul Gandhi should visit after 3 pm, a decision seemingly influenced by the Assam CM.

"On the morning of 21 January the Satradhikar makes a statement that because of huge crowds expected at the Than on the morning of January 22nd, Rahul Gandhi should visit the holy place after 3 pm. This he said was the decision of the management committee. It is obvious that the Bordowa Than Management Committee was pressurised by the Assam CM into taking the decision it did, who in turn has been instructed from Delhi", he added.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, arriving at Bordowa Than expressed frustration over being denied permission to enter the shrine.

"We want to visit the temple (Batadrava Than). What crime have I committed that I cannot visit the temple?..." Rahul Gandhi said.

"Aaj sirf ek vyakti mandir mein ja sakta hain..."(Perhaps today only one person can go to the temple)," the Congress leader said in an apparent dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the 'Pran Pratishta' ceremony at Ayodhya Ram Temple.
