Ram Navmi In Ayodhya: Ramlalla’s Idol Illuminated With 'Surya Tilak' In Presence Of Scientists Who Designed It

Ramlalla's idol at Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya was illuminated with a 'Surya Tilak' on the occasion of Ram Navmi on Wednesday (17 April).
The rays of the Sun fell on the forehead of the 51-inch tall murti for four minutes from 11:58 am to 12:02 pm.
The event can be seen in the backdrop of the fact that Lord Ram is Sooryavanshi and hence he sought Lord Sun's blessing on his birthday.
The director and scientists of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee were present during the event.
These are the scientists who worked for four years to design the execution of 'Surya Tilak' of Ramlalla on every Ram Navmi.
Retired CBRI director Gopalkrishnan was also present at the event from Chennai. He contributed to designing 'Surya Tilak' and working on earthquake-resilient design of the temple.
Indian Institute of Astrophysics' director Annapurni Subramaniam, who has also contributed to ISRO's Aditya-L1 mission was also present.
Notably, sculptor Arun Yogiraj who carved the Ramlalla idol has also gone to Ayodhya for the first time since consecration to celebrate Ram Navmi.
A senior scientist from the CSIR-CBRI explained earlier that the planned size of the 'tilak' was 58 mm, with an illumination period of approximately three to three-and-a-half minutes, featuring two minutes of full radiance.
