Officials announced on Tuesday (26 December) that the Ram temple complex, currently under construction in Ayodhya, will be self-sufficient or 'atmanirbhar'. It will feature its own sewage and water treatment plants, and will also provide facilities to facilitate the mobility of the elderly and disabled individuals.

In a presentation held at the trust's office in Ayodhya, Champat Rai, the general secretary of the Ram temple trust, shared the landscape plan of the grand complex. He further mentioned that a substantial 70 per cent of the forthcoming 70-acre temple complex will be dedicated to green spaces.

According to The Hindu, he stated that the complex will embody self-sufficiency, featuring two Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), one Water Treatment Plant (WTP), and a dedicated line from the power house.

In addition to the temple complex, there will also be a fire station that can access water from a subterranean reservoir, he further elaborated.

Rai shared the landscape plan for the majestic temple with a group of journalists, detailing its impressive features. These include 392 pillars and a 'percota' boundary measuring 14 feet in width that will cover a distance of 732 meters.

The Ram temple complex is set to include a lift facility and two entrance ramps to accommodate elderly and specially-abled visitors, he stated. Rai mentioned that a Jatayu statue has been erected on Kuber Tila in Ayodhya.
