"Sidramulha Khan, Not Siddaramaiah": Karnataka Government Files Case Against BJP MP Anantkumar Hegde

The Karnataka Home Ministry has initiated legal action against BJP MP Anantkumar Hegde for his derogatory remarks against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, referring to him as 'Sidramulha Khan', according to a report from The Hindustan Times.
Hegde stated, “At least 99.99 per cent Hindus of the state pay the tax regularly, but it’s been used for the Masjids. He is not Siddaramaiah but Sidramulha Khan who is working for the welfare of Muslims on the taxes by Hindus".
The case was filed following a speech by Hegde at a party workers’ convention where he criticised the state government and accused it of favouring Muslims financially.
In response, the police have registered a suo motu case against Hegde, with the SP of Uttara Kannada confirming the registration of the case and stating that they possess video evidence of the speech.
Congress leaders have condemned Hegde's statement, accusing him and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh of attempting to disrupt the peace and religious harmony in the district.
Senior Congress leader R V Deshpande criticised Hegde for failing to address the needs of his constituency and for his divisive remarks.
According to the same report, BJP is considering changing Hegde's candidature for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections due to his perceived lack of efficiency and controversial statements.
Hegde had previously sparked controversy with remarks about amending the Constitution, leading to apologies from party leaders.
