Telangana Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao accused the Congress of exploiting Muslims for electoral gains during a recent election rally in Nizamabad.

In a veiled reference to Rahul Gandhi's 'mohabbat ki dukan' remarks, Rao questioned the Congress's commitment to secularism and emphasised that genuine secularism should be reflected in actions, not just words.

Addressing the crowd, Rao underscored the BRS's principle of treating all communities equally and alleged that the Congress had historically used Muslims as a mere vote bank.

As reported by NDTV, he pointedly asked under whose watch the Babri Masjid demolition occurred, implying a historical failure in safeguarding minority interests.

Rao touted the BRS's significant financial commitment to minority welfare, claiming that during the Congress's tenure, only Rs 2,000 crore was spent over 10 years, while his government spent Rs 12,000 crore since the formation of Telangana in 2014.

Highlighting the absence of communal riots in Telangana during the BRS regime, Rao pledged to maintain a secular state, asserting that Muslims and Hindus would work together collaboratively.

He also criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party for allegedly fostering communal divisions and predicted the formation of a coalition government post-2024.

Rao urged voters to consolidate the BRS's influence by securing all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana.
